Have you ever had an issue come up at work that needed to go through your Human Resource Department for resolution? When is the right time to make those reports to your supervisor, director, or CEO? What does the company's policy say about anti-discrimination, sexual/gender harassment, and employment resignation? Perhaps you own a small business, what are the best practices on these topics?

These are the sensitive topics that need to be discussed thoroughly with each company employee, supervisor, and department director in order for them to feel safe and comfortable when coming to work. Which is why we are bringing in the experts.

Susan Cone Kilgore has over 28 years of legal experience specializing in employment law. She previously worked with FDIC in various states, where she connected management, union representatives, and human resources in personnel matters and labor union negotiation. Mrs. Kilgore moved to San Antonio, TX in 2008, where she opened her own private practice and represented clients in all stages of claims, investigations, discovery, trials, and negotiations in business disputes and employment discrimination. She currently works for Lesser Law Firm PLLC, here in San Antonio, TX.

Carlos Pernia, Director of Operations for RK Group-Houston, has been managing and overseeing the day to day operations for the last 5 years. Servicing a wide range of needs, Carlos and his team are responsible for the daily execution of off-premise catering functions and hotel food and beverage operations--including banquet, room service, restaurant, and bar departments. As the HR representative in Houston, Carlos is the frontline manager enforcing all containment, corrective, and preventative HR actions to ensure a well-functioning unit.

So, which role do you play in present day work place issues?

You will earn 1 CE credit in Human Resources for attending this program.
