One year ago, many catering and event industry professionals faced the hardest moments of their careers as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic began to hit our industry. For a group of professionals that promotes and thrives on group gatherings, our world was brought to a halt as groups were required to eventually stop meeting altogether. Over the last year, we have watched as laws and efforts have been made to assist in recovery for various industries, but what about ours?

Join us on Tuesday, April 13th as the NACE Alamo Chapter welcomes Megan Estrada, CEO & Event Consultant of NSWE Events and NACE Chapter Advocacy Team Leader,  and Doug Quattrini, CPCE, Director of Sales for Feastivities Events and Immediate Past President of NACE, for a timely discussion on advocacy efforts for the Special Events Industry. In this session, Megan and Doug will discuss how and why Megan started her advocacy efforts, her successes and roadblocks, and how her efforts, in partnership with the NACE National Board and staff, grew into the establishment of the NACE Chapter Advocacy Support Team. Megan and Doug will also explain the process that NACE is following, and discuss the resources available to chapter leaders and members, and how to get started. The word "advocacy" can carry many different meanings - this virtual meeting will focus on what it looks like and means for the Special Event Industry!
