We hope everyone is off to a Great 2014!! We are excited about everything our Chapter was able to accomplish in 2013 and are postive that 2014 will be even better for the Alamo Chapter of NACE!
Here are some of the highlights from 2013:
- Sent four scholarship recipients to the Experience! Conference in Chicago
- President's Gala had record breaking attendance
- Chapter membership surpassed 90 members
- Incredible programming that allowed us to increase our average monthly meeting attendance

Thank you to all who attended and supported the 8th Annual NACE President’s Gala! We had a Mad-tastic good time and enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up in their 1960’s glam attire. This year was a record breaking event that surpassed our fundraising goal by 60%! All funds will go to directly support educational opportunities for our Alamo Chapter of NACE. A huge thank you to the planning committee for a very successful year!

February Meeting: Tasty Bites Challenge
This one of a kind event will be our inaugural catering competition for the NACE Alamo Chapter. Come wine, dine and network with the best professionals in San Antonio! YOU will be the judge for the evening. The categories are: Tastiest Hors d'oeuvres, Most Delicious Dessert, Specialty Cocktail and Best Presentation. Seaborn Family Fundraiser
Stacy Seaborn's husband, Matt, has undergone a dual transplant surgery and a family fundraiser to help raise money to cover some of their growing medical expenses will be held on February 16th.

Congratulations to Christina Alvarado-Morales, with Great Events & Rentals! She passed her CPCE Exam!! NACE Alamo Chapter offcially has four CPCE's. Will you be our fifth?
Test your Knowledge: Each month we will present three questions that you might expect to see on the CPCE Certification Exam. If you can’t answer the questions, then maybe you need to join the CPCE study group! Answers are provided at the bottom of the newsletter.

Our Event Professionals shined in 2013. What an amazing year!
January 2013- True Flavors Catering, Great Events & Rentals, and Casa Hernan worked together with Jeret Pena to develop a menu and décor that would highlight the signature cocktails for the program.
February 2013- Amalee Events, Great Events & Rentals, and The Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk developed décor and menu to highlight Jewish Weddings.
March 2013- Fresh Horizons, Theme Travelers, and Sturchio Entertainment presented a lovely spread for the meeting at the Jingu House, which has been recently renovated and reopened by the San Antonio Parks Foundation.
April 2013- Goen South, Great Events & Rentals, Cutting Edge Entertainment, and Pedrotti’s North Wind Ranch worked with the Programs Committee to help highlight the 1st ever AWESOME NACE Hunger Games.
May 2013- This meeting was developed by the Westin La Cantera and Programs Committee to have an Event Professional Vendor Showcase.
June 2013- Events by Reese, Great Events & Rentals, Hotel Eilan, and Swank AV coordinated an elegant evening that supported the panel discussion with signature members of the local and growing hospitality industry.
July 2013- The Veranda, Spice of Life Catering, Illusions and Flair Floral Design created an event that was colorful and bright to showcase one of the newest venues in San Antonio.
August 2013- Botanika, Great Events & Rentals, The McNay Art Museum, and Heavenly Gourmet worked together to coordinate the presentation by Stephen Barth.
September 2013- Goen South, Great Events & Rentals, and The Embassy Suites Riverwalk did an outstanding job creating décor that accompanied the “Game Dinner” for the panel discussion with clients from the CVB and corporations regarding their needs as clients.
October 2013- Theme Travelers, Fair Oaks Ranch, and BBJ- Austin did a spectacular job for a meeting regarding Indian Weddings.
November 2013- Gala! Great Events & Rentals, Goen South, and Spice of Life worked with the Gala Committee to produce a Mad Men themed gala. What a night! GORGEOUS!
December 2013- Barriba Cantina and the Programs Committee hosted a luncheon for the December mixer.

- Foods are cooked tableside on a rechaud (portable stove) that is on a gueridon (tableside cart with wheels); servers place platters of food on the guest tables and guests assemble their own plates.
