March 2019 NACE President’s Message

It’s March Madness and I don’t mean basketball; the busy season is upon us and Spring is in the air! I always enjoy the change of weather and the thrill of a robust calendar full of Spring galas, weddings, and festivals.

As a reminder, next Tuesday, March 12th at 6PM, we are hosting Mr. Howie Nestel, CEO of Sharkmatic Advertising. The program “Living the Extraordinary Life” will discuss the importance of our relationships with Non-Profit organizations as event professionals. Lucky to call my friend, Howie Nestel is a seasoned advertising guru and sits on multiple Non-Profit boards and lives the meaning of work-life balance while giving his time to his community. His dynamic personality will surely entertain and educate our audience to the max. If you haven’t registered, you can sign up on our website sanantonionace.com. You will not want to miss this!

Thank you to everyone that attended what was the largest Tasty Bites ever with almost 200 attendees! Congratulations to all the winners! Warm recognition and praise to the many participants, sponsors and vendors that make this event successful every year. Our successful chapter events are made possible by the hard work and dedication by our members that participate each month!

Upcoming Meetings

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. As event professionals, we work with many non-profit organizations for any special occasions. Partnering with a Non-Profit Organization is always rewarding when you take the time to help others in need within your community. So what are some of the benefits of these relationships? It could be professional development for your employees, brand recognition, customer loyalty, or in-kind donations?

Howie Nestel, Founder, and CEO of Sharkmatic Advertising in San Antonio, TX has been in marketing and advertising for over 25 years. As a graduate of the University of Texas Business School in Austin, his cool little ad agency has provided services to over 1,500 companies including Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Chrysler, MTV, and much more. His creative marketing-savvy team has also completed over 750 websites for various businesses and non-profit organizations.

In addition to running his advertising agency, Howie Nestel sits on 6 non-profit organization boards and has donated his time, talent and effort to over 50 charities.

Now that is living an extra-ordinary life.

Parking will be available for guests in the Frost Bank surface parking lot next door at 5:30pm
